Forum software updated to 3.0.7PL1

Postby djdurant » Mon Mar 08, 2010 5:32 am

I spent the last few hours performing the update from 3.0.6 of phpBB to the 3.0.7PL1 version. The upgrade should have been much quicker, but modifications I made to the prior files significantly slowed the process. I've made more changes in the code to allow future upgrades to be much easier to apply.

Thanks!

New blog entry: Clear purse/bag policy?

Postby djdurant » Sun Feb 21, 2010 4:29 am

New blog entry on the use of a clear purse/bag policy.

I've been following a discussion on linkedin.com about instituting a clear plastic bag/purse policy to deter employee theft. I'm using this topic as a collection point for the information I'm finding regarding the subject.

Moving Blog to LPControl

Postby djdurant » Sat Feb 06, 2010 4:20 am

I've decided to consolidate my web presence to LPControl.com, and to focus all future updates here. This will result in more updates with frequent additions to the content on this site.

I'll continue to operate DJDurant.com as a placeholder, and continue to receive email through my addresses associated with DJDurant.com.

National Shoplifting Prevention Coalition Membership

Postby djdurant » Fri Jan 29, 2010 2:50 am

I've become a member of the NSPC (National Shoplifting Prevention Coalition).

From the NSPC website:

The National Shoplifting Prevention Coalition (NSPC) harnesses the collective efforts of retail and corporate entities, justice and law enforcement agencies and schools and community groups in a nationwide, non-partisan alliance to address shoplifting. The purpose of the Coalition is to institute a coordinated effort to improve the way our nation and local communities regard, prevent and respond to shoplifting.

I've only had a short time to look through the resources available as member, but the amount and quality of reference information and statistical information is great.

Ethical Recruiting

Postby djdurant » Tue Jan 26, 2010 7:05 am

I've posted two articles by Chris O'Leart from Loss Prevention Recruiters to the site today. Chris is a former loss prevention executive, and now operates a leading loss prevention recruiting company.

Both of today's articles deal with the practice of ethical recruiting. This is an issue that arises often in our industry due to the high demand for qualified professionals.

Ethical Recruiting, Part 2
